Design of nano-ARPES beamline at 3-GeV next-generation synchrotron radiation facility, NanoTerasu

Abstract The beamline for angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES) with a nano-focused beam (nano-ARPES) is planned as one of the public beamlines in NanoTerasu, 3-GeV next-generation synchrotron radiation facility at Tohoku, Japan, which scheduled to start operation 2024. A 4 m long APPLE-II type undulator provides brilliant soft X-rays various polarizations (linear horizontal and vertical, left right circular) energy range 50-1,000 eV. collimated plane grating monochromator adopted X-ray because we can select demagnification factor c f = cos α /cos β between high energy-resolution (HR) mode HR-ARPES experiments low divergence high-flux nano-ARPES measurements. This aims produce flux by using ultrahigh precision reflective mirror optics, not Fresnel zone plate used focusing optics previous station other facilities.
